About the Designer.

Hello there, my name is Mandy and you’re probably wondering where I find the inspiration for my designs. My early years were spent in England and South Australia and then a brief stint in Sydney before settling in Victoria where I now happily live in Warrnambool, a coastal town in far South West Victoria abundant with marine flora and fauna.

This region is known as the Shipwreck Coast. The sea is always icy and the weather can be unforgiving at times but we have a whale nursery and a penguin colony and a seabed thick with giant kelp forests where delicate seadragons can hide.

I have always been interested in wildlife and coincidentally I share a birthday (not the year!) with my favourite person – apart from my wonderful partner- David Attenborough.

I have also been interested in sustainability and self sufficiency. My first home was a mudbrick house in East Gipplsland on 4.5 hectares with a house cow, goats and chickens. Like my home, I am always looking for better sustainable options in my business.

I was a co-leader of Beach Patrol 3280-3284 for several years which was a finalist in the 2023 Keep Victoria Beautiful Litter Award for promoting awareness on the devastating effects of shipping litter in our region. Probably the most rewarding project was my involvement with the Better Buds Campaign which was instrumental in banning plastic-stemmed cotton buds in Victoria and other states drafting single-use plastic policy legislation.
