Hooded Plovers or affectionately known as Hoodies are listed as critically endangered in NSW and vulnerable in Victoria. Hooded Plover’s nests consist of scrapings in the sand above the tidelines. Hooded plover eggs and chicks are particular vulnerable to human activity, native and introduced predators. and climate change.
Susan’s love of coastal habitats and the abundant birdlife around her beloved Point Lonsdale home is evident in her beautiful lino prints.

About Susan Cumming the Artist
After gaining her Diploma of Art (Printed Textile Design) Susan commenced work in the Melbourne Textile Industry. Susan’s career spans 40 years across all facets of the industry, eventually leading to freelance design in Australia, Europe and the USA, concentrating on the exciting Hawaiian market. After retiring to Point Lonsdale, Susan embarked on a series of Lino Print workshops with Janet Goldman and she now concentrates on the abundant coastal birdlife, and her garden birds with the occasional fabric design thrown in.
