Whale Charm – Second

What to do when you have a batch of whales with imperfections in the enamel? Give them a makeover with hand-applied German glass glitter and turn imperfect into perfect. Attach this handsome glittery whale charm to a purse, windcheater, bag or a phone wallet zipper- a must have accessory for whale watchers.

Conventional glitter is like pouring more microplastics into our environment. You can find out more about glitter from the Green Shopper. German glass glitter  (produced in Germany by fine glass artisans) or glitter made from gum leaf available from the Glitter Tribe are far better glitter alternatives.

To fix the glitter to the enamel we used a thin layer UV cured jewellery grade resin which is durable and waterproof. Not being a big fan of resin jewellery it was a decision not taken lightly as we try to avoid plastic in our products and packaging. But it would be a more of a shame to throw out these whales because they suffered a bad dose of pimples. And so we recycled what was imperfect and made it uniquely perfect to produce something that looked more interesting and beautiful than the original.
